Heart & Vascular / Cardiac Catheterization Lab

Technology for Healthier Hearts

Parrish Medical Center's Cardiac Center of Excellence includes cardiac catheterization, a vitally important component of modern heart care. The lab offers patients the most advanced digital technology leading to enhanced picture quality for diagnostic analysis.

The cardiac catheterization procedure identifies abnormalities present at birth, heart valve or artery problems, and indicates heart efficiency.

Additional diagnostic studies that evaluate the heart's anatomy and performance levels include:

  • echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound)
  • stress echocardiography
  • transesophageal echocardiography
  • exercise stress tests (regular, thallium)

These studies, performed at Parrish Medical Center's cardiac catheterization lab, indicate how the heart meets demands (such as takes place during exercise) for increased oxygen.

The cardiac catheterization laboratory is an essential tool in Parrish Medical Center's goal of healing damaged hearts and keeping strong hearts healthy.
