Parrish Medical Center, a 210-bed, acute care hospital, is one of America's finest healing environments. It is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. Located in Titusville, Florida, just a few miles from Kennedy Space Center, PMC is the primary emergency medical receiving hospital for U.S. space program astronauts and ground support crew members. An $80 million dollar replacement hospital opened in November, 2002. The building is designed to provide a healing setting for the whole person. Hospital features include a four-story atrium lighted by a skylight, the most advanced medical technology, architectural features to soothe the anxieties patients might have about a hospital stay, and a staff of more than 1,300 physicians, nurses, staff members and volunteers. Parrish Medical Center serves north Brevard County. Nearby sites of interest include the Canaveral National Seashore and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, and Brevard Community College. PMC is approximately a 45-minute drive from the major Orlando-area theme parks and attractions. |
