Junior Achivement “Real World Money 101 for Teens”

Holmes Regional and Parrish Medical Centers will team with Junior Achievement of the Space Coast to present “Real World Money 101 for Teens” from 8:30am-4:00pm on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne and on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville. Six activity-packed sessions, all materials and lunch are included, as well as a take-home Career and Skills Assessment and CD-Rom game for every student. The workshop is directed towards teens in grades 7 through 9.

“Real World Money 101 for Teens” is designed to guide teens through an exploration of personal finance, education and career options based on their skills, interests, and values. By participating in this Junior Achievement program, students will learn how the educational choices they make in the next few years will affect them as family members, citizens, and consumers for a lifetime. Activities are designed to teach the concepts of self-knowledge and decision-making, the relationship between education and success in life, budgeting, the use of credit vs. cash, and associating risk with financial matters.

To register for “Real World Money 101 for Teens,” parents can call (321) 751-4024.  The cost for the workshop, lunch included, is $20 per student.  Space is limited so make your reservations early.  Deadline to register for the Holmes Regional Medical Center is June 11, 2010 and June 18, 2010 for Parrish Medical Center. Scholarships are available.  Contact Junior Achievement of the Space Coast to register or for more information: (321) 751-4024 or www.jaspacecoast.org.
