At Parrish Medical Center, our
goal every day is to provide the best possible care in the treatment and
intervention of disease, and we measure our success by our patients’
experiences and outcomes. But the larger healthcare community also has standardized
benchmarks for establishing quality, and we are proud of our national leadership
in providing quality healthcare.
Your Parrish Medical Center care
team has earned many awards and citations for overall quality and excellence
from leading healthcare accrediting and ranking agencies.
In
fact, PMC has earned nine Disease-Specific Care Gold Seals of Approval™ for
healthcare quality from The Joint Commission for Hip and Knee Joint Replacement.
We are proud to hold gold seals in heart attack treatment, breast health,
diabetes management, heart failure care, hip replacement, knee replacement,
palliative care, stroke and wound care. And for the second year in a
row, we were named a HealthGrades
Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence™.
Our healing environment offers the area’s most sophisticated
surgical suites available anywhere, and a medical team that is skilled in the
very latest procedures and techniques. PMC is considered a best-practice center
for a variety of evidence-based care delivery methods. As such, we have been
the focus of site visits from healthcare providers around the country and
world. Here is a look at our top-notch treatment and intervention services:
InfusionCenter. The Parrish Infusion Center specializes in intravenous treatments,
and its No. 1 goal is convenience. We work with an array of patients who are
undergoing treatments such as chemotherapy, pain management or intravenous
antibiotics.
WoundHealing Center. The Parrish Wound Healing Center is a healing place for patients
who suffer from chronic wounds, which do not start to heal within four weeks.
We offer the latest treatments and technology available today in a beautiful,
soothing environment. We have the most advanced system used today — a
hyperbaric chamber, called the Perry Sigma Plus — which “super-oxygenates”
wounds.
EmergencyDepartment. More than 40,000 patients per year are treated by our highly
skilled team of board-certified emergency medicine physicians, physician
assistants, radiologists, nurses, nurse practitioners, technicians, and other
support personnel who are trained to treat any type of emergency that may
arise, from broken bones to heart attacks or strokes.
Neurology/Neurosurgery.
Neurosurgical and neurological services at Parrish Medical Center offer a
multidisciplinary approach for the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of
patients with neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular
disease, epilepsy and Alzheimer's disease. The medical center has excellent
caregivers in neurosurgery, neurology, radiology and nursing.
GastrointestinalCare. Gastroenterology is the study, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of
the digestive tract and associated organs. These include the esophagus,
stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, gallbladder or pancreas. Our GI
department is recognized for quality and safety by The American Society for
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
