Gastroenterology is the study, diagnosis and treatment of
diseases of the digestive tract and related organs, including the esophagus, stomach,
small intestine, large intestine, liver, gallbladder and pancreas.
Common disorders
of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract include:
- Irritable bowel syndrome
- Constipation
- Diverticulitis
- Colon polyps and colon cancer
- Hemorrhoids
- Colitis
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Various cancers

The department includes four
physicians as well as nurses who specialize in gastroenterology and a gastroenterology

dietary and radiology departments.
