Community Benefit

2012 Community Benefit Report

We are in the midst of a healthcare transformation, and Parrish Medical Center is leading the way. The origami crane you’ve seen in our communications and advertising reflects that transformation — taking one thing (a piece of paper) and transforming it into something meaningful through patience, precision, and mindful determination. In Japanese culture, the crane is a symbol of strength, endurance, health and healing — and healing is the essence of our mission and vision.

Throughout the year, PMC care partners share their knowledge and expertise in the community at hospital-sponsored health events, health fairs, back-to-school events, educational programs and speaking to civic and faith-based groups. They check blood pressure; check blood glucose (for diabetes testing); and assist community members with risk assessments for a variety of healthcare issues like PAD, sleep apnea, heart disease, and more. PMC also works with other health and human services organizations in the county to ensure our residents get the care they need, no matter their circumstances.

Our care partners and what they do in the community is shared and celebrated in Parrish Medical Center’s Community Benefit Report.

As a fiscally responsible community organization, we also chose to “go green” and not print copies of these reports. Instead we have made them available exclusively in electronic format, accessible from computers, tablets and smart phones. Please take time to review what PMC is doing in and for our community, above and beyond taking care of patients in the hospital and outpatient facilities.
